THE BEGINNING JULY 4th 2012

Today I will see my allotment for the first time. It is in the a suburb of Manchester and is in a small group of allotments hidden from view behind a quiet urban street. I am very excited. My life is about to change in a big way, not because of the allotment, but because I am retiring after studying and working in education for forty years. I am hoping that the allotment will be somewhere to find a bit of peace and quiet as well as a chance to explore how things grow.
